GMB are in discussions with UBAT around support staff working environment and workload in order to seek improvements, and the Trust have committed to listening.
GMB is campaigning for UBAT to “make my day” for support staff. This would mean the Trust implementing one day a year extra annual leave for support staff, BUT that this is reserved for actually being able to take this day off in term time so that staff can have one day for something you need. We believe that this one single day would be a gesture of recognition that support staff are valued. If the Trust agreed this we would need to work on basic guidance for use of this day to ensure you can use it when you need to.

It is important for GMB to understand the different views across different roles and schools and we have asked for this in the survey for our internal information
