Surrey County Council Pay Ballot 2025/26

The offer from the employer is:

  • To mirror the NJC (National Joint Council) pay awards
  • One extra annual leave day for staff with 5 or more years of continuous service
  • To look at moving to NJC spine points and pay terms and conditions in the future (subject to collective agreements)

What is NJC?

The NJC is the National Joint Council for Local Government Services. It is a negotiating body between the Local Governments and the recognised trade unions. Surrey Council opted out of the NJC years ago, so they negotiate their own pay awards with unions and have their own pay terms and conditions.

Unions will begin negotiating this year's pay award with NJC soon.
