Reforms to Public Sector Exit Payments
The government announced in 2015 that it wished to reduce further the cost of public sector redundancy payments, principally by imposing a cap on all exit payments. GMB have opposed this, but the government have asked the departments responsible for different public sector workforces to reach agreement on packages of reforms appropriate to those workforces, within an overall, centrally-set framework.
