GMB Southern supporting demos for an NHS pay rise
GMB have been calling for a 15% pay rise for our NHS heroes. We support their demonstrations to ensure a fair pay deal.
GMB, the union for NHS workers, are supporting our members who wish to go out and demonstrate for a proper pay rise for the first time in a decade. As we have said here, ten years of pay rises below inflation have led to a real-term drop in pay for many of our hard working members, who have been of such vital importance during this Covid pandemic.
There are demonstrations going on all over the country on Saturday 12th September (all beginning at 11am), and three that we are supporting in our region:
Bournemouth — The Square, Bournemouth
Brighton & Hove — Hove Lawns/Beach
London — BBC New Broadcasting House, Portland Place
All demonstrations will be peaceful — so families and dogs welcome — and will be socially distanced and with face coverings where appropriate.
