As a result of Asda’s decision not to introduce the £1.50 (per hour) Delivery Driver premium, and is also scrapping its trial of the premium early, members have asked to be consulted about a ballot for industrial action.

This decision now means that Asda delivery drivers will now be the lowest paid among the big 4 supermarket chains.

GMB Southern Region will now be doing a consultative ballot to members on taking industrial action.
